TIM FRAZIER
Guard, Memphis Grizzlies
“I joined Hoops4Humanity to help raise awareness that many families in Africa do not have access to basic essentials that humans need to live and thrive. It’s humbling to work together with a group of my peers in an effort to bring a sustainable, clean water source to communities in need.”
Frazier has a decorated basketball career, starting in high school. In his junior year at Strake Jesuit College Preparatory in Houston, he was named District 17-5A Defensive Player of the Year and after his senior season, was ranked the 20th best point guard of his class, the 110th most valuable player overall, and a three-star recruit by Rivals.com. Frazier attended Penn State University. Despite a significant Achilles injury in 2012, Frazier finished his college career by being named to the Bob Cousy Award watch list, Third Team All-Big Ten, and won the Big Ten Sportsmanship Award.
After college, Frazier spent the 2014 – 2015 season in the NBA’s D-League with the Maine Red Claws. Based on his performance that season, he was selected as both the 2015 NBA Development League’s Most Valuable Player and Rookie of the Year after averaging 16.1 points, 7.1 rebounds and 9.5 assists in 41 games. Frazier would spend another season with the Maine Red Claws before making his NBA debut with the New Orleans Pelicans for the 2016 – 2017 season.
